This year, we decided to mark the occasion with a memorable dinner at Foong Wei Heong Chinese Restaurant in Penang. Known for its authentic Chinese cuisine and warm ambiance, this popular spot exceeded all expectations.

Located in the heart of George Town, Foong Wei Heong blends tradition and modernity, making it the perfect venue for a festive celebration. The highlight, of course, was the food. We started with their signature double-boiled soup, a comforting blend of flavors that set the tone for the evening. The pomfret fish cooked in two styles stole the show with its crispy skin and tender meat, paired with yam basket and Worcestershire sauce. Other standout dishes included the braised spinash, etc, each meticulously prepared and bursting with flavor.

What made the experience even more special was the family-style dining setup. Sharing platters of food created a sense of togetherness and joy, perfectly embodying the spirit of Christmas.

Foong Wei Heong’s impeccable service and delicious dishes turned our Christmas Eve dinner into a cherished memory. Whether you're a Penang local or a visitor, this restaurant is a fantastic choice for festive dining.

The Cowboy Winterland at Penang International Commercial City (PICC) turned out to be one of the most magical events of the season, offering a unique blend of Western charm and winter wonder. From its dazzling lights to exciting activities, it became a must-visit destination for families and friends looking to celebrate the holiday season in a novel and fun-filled way.

Visitors were greeted with a stunning transformation of PICC into a winter wonderland, complete with snow-like decorations, twinkling lights, and Western-inspired structures reminiscent of a cowboy town. The blend of icy winter aesthetics with rustic cowboy vibes made the event both visually captivating and delightfully immersive.

The highlight of Cowboy Winterland was the interactive activities. Guests of all ages enjoyed the themed games, such as gingerbread house decorating, and water-color painting, while kids were thrilled to participate in the animal petting station, where iguanas, rabbits, ducklings, horse riding, and llama. These pictures, as you swipe above, were taken at the SPINK, at Air Itam, Penang. The view from the rooftop of the hotel is so breathtaking. You can see the greenery of Penang Hill with the Kek Lok Si temple on the hillside. From the manager, the SPINK was opened on 28th November 2021 last year. So, it is still relatively new, and we were lucky to experience dining here.

The true meaning of Christmas is a phrase that began to appear in the mid-19th century when a shift toward a more secular culture resulted in a national backlash. Christians began to see the secularization of the celebration day of the birth of Christ as the shift toward Santa Claus and gift exchanging replaced the celebration of the advent of Christ and giving to the poor and needy without expectation of receiving anything in return. 

The poem A Visit from St. Nicholas (1822) helped popularize the tradition of exchanging gifts, and seasonal Christmas shopping began to assume economic importance. Harriet Beecher Stowe criticizes the commercialization in her story "Christmas; or, the Good Fairy". An early expression of this sentiment using the phrase of "the true meaning" is found in The American Magazine, vol. 28 (1889):

"to give up one's very self – to think only of others – how to bring the greatest happiness to others – that is the true meaning of Christmas."

This is the last day for walk-in for the various types of vaccination in Malaysia, namely Pfizer, Astra Zeneca, and Sinovac which were freely given to the public in Penang and all other states in Malaysia.

The vlogger was lucky to have her booster vaccination of Pfizer Comirnaty at the Tapak PESTA where the waiting line is much faster, albeit with the long queue. Apparently, Sunshine Square and Equatorial Hotel PPVs were full, including the Optimax Eye Specialists Centre.
