Working on a Holiday

Today may be a holiday, but I have some office work to do; printing out company profile, brochures, etc for tommorrow's meeting. Then, I receive a call from a client requesting for more information. Another existing client wanted another quotation, etc. And another wanted the compliance forms be changed before issueing LA. I also updated old blogs and try to maintain them regularly. I also shoot Nuffnang an email to collaborate further. I know some are getting very good gifts like VW car for free and get to blog about the features! Such lucky souls!

My Pup has More Fur

Leia, my 4+ months Pomeranian puppy has grown up a bit with longer fur and her tail looks bushy now, instead of a skinny skeleton with barely a fur. She is so cute and cannot do no wrong. I just love stroking her pelt and she loves being massaged. So far, neighbours are understanding and no one complaint of her incessant barks in the wee hours of the morning and at night. She is an investment and a very good companion to the lonely soul. She makes the best friend one can have and a loyal furry kid. The friendship we get back in return, no money can buy. She is now part of the family.

Shopify

I am a bit interested in signing up for Shopify and try the free 30-day trial. After watching a video on how to integrate Oberlo which is an app to link to AliExpress for the dropshipping, I find it easy peasy to set up the free theme like Wordpress, set up the payment gateway like Paypal (By the way, Shopify Payment is not accepted in Malaysia yet) and adding in the products from Aliexpress based on your interests, you are ready to go. It is better to set up a general store first, before choosing the niche products. But it is rather costly at USD 25 per month of usage despite its user-friendliness.

Had a Restful Holiday at Paradise Hotel

Yesterday afternoon, my partner and I checked into Hotel Paradise along Tanjung Bungah using the voucher for a free night stay. We invited my parents and youngest sister along using the pay for 3 adults, free for 2 voucher which cost RM 79.50 each adult. Hence after considering the free meals, it cost around RM 46 per adult for 5 persons with buffet dinner. There were plenty of flower crabs in thick gravy that was sumptuous plus a host of other dishes, desserts, drinks, ice kacang, salads, soups, etc.

The views were also good; we had seaview and hill view. I also took photos of the tennis court that we completed for the website in ture and for updating it. My youngest sis went alone to Quayside to swim and do the laundry for me as well. She's a nice girl and responsible. Now I hope the factories in Penang won't close due to Trump's policies or other matters that linger such as the political landscape.

My Skype is not working

I had my interview cancelled this afternoon as my Skype microphone driver was apparently muted which I don't know how to make it work. From advice, I bought a headset cum microphone with a single 3.5 jack for $55 downstairs at Times Square and discovered that you can buy the converter from a single jack to double jack - one for speaker (pink coded), the other for microphone (green coded) and vice versa. The converter cost is between $10 to $20. If it still does not work, then I might have to summon the technician to come up to my unit and troubleshoot the problem as this has been a nagging problem for a long time.

Chinese New Year Decoration at Da:Men

Above is a photo taken at Da:Men shopping mall in Subang Jaya. Da:Men is managed by a high end mall operator and this helped to propped up the price of the condo units starting at RM 500k before the mall was set up to RM 900k now at market rate. The decorations were well prepared that served as eye candy to shoppers and patrons. The God of Prosperity stands right in the center with large coin and flowers embellishments. It was very attractive and even though Chinese New Year may officially be over, the expensive decorations remain.

Chap Goh Meh is the Chinese version of Valentine's Day where single women will throw mandarin oranges into the sea in the hopes of finding a suitor on a sampan to catch the fruits. Above were plastic roses sold at Da:men and it is not so big an affair compared to the one in Penang where fresh roses in bouquets are sold exorbitantly and yet many sales are made specially on this day.

Internet Marketing

I woke up at 5:30am this morning, fire up the laptop to learn new stuffs online but I am still feeling drowsy. I know I had to do something about it and pick up new skills online via video trainings of Get Response with many features like autoresponder, newsletters, webinars, etc. Milking the internet cash cow is possible but you also must not be lazy and work smart. 20% of the results is due to 80% of the work from the 80/20 rule. Sometimes I beg to differ, as I could also be meeting the right people who could mentor you and fast track your income exponentially with success stories like Patrick Chan, his student Gerald Soh, etc. With internet marketing platforms like Facebook, Google Adwords, LinkedIn, etc, reaching the masses in a short number of time is now possible.
